Testing conducted by Apple in July and August 2024 using preproduction AirPods 4 (Active Noise Cancellation) with wireless charging case connected to preproduction iPhone 16 Pro Max units, all with preproduction software. The playlist included 358 individual audio tracks purchased from the iTunes Store (256 kbps AAC). Volume was set to 50%. 3D Audio, Conversation Detection, and Sound Control were disabled. With Sound Control set to Active Noise Cancellation, playback lasted up to 4 hours. During testing, the AirPods battery was completely drained by audio playback until the first AirPod stopped playback. Battery life will vary depending on device settings, environment, usage, and many other factors.
10.) Testing conducted by Apple in July and August 2024 using preproduction AirPods 4 (Active Noise Cancellation) with wireless charging case connected to preproduction iPhone 16 Pro Max units, all with preproduction software. The depleted AirPods were fully charged. Audio playback then continued until the first AirPod stopped playing. The cycle was repeated until the AirPods and charging case were completely depleted. Battery life depends on device settings, environment, usage and many other factors.
11.) AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are protected against dust, sweat and water for sports and training that do not involve water. Products with a charging case have been tested under controlled laboratory conditions and are classified as IP54 according to IEC standard 60529. Protection against dust, sweat and water is not permanent and may decrease over time as a result of normal wear and tear. Do not charge when wet.
